Murder by Death
Sandy
Everyone looks down on Sandy
Says she won't go far
While all the others make their moves
She's standing in the yard

Staring off into the distance
Squinting at the sun
Summoning something inside her
She can't be the only one

Nobody notices when she leaves the party
She breaks away into the background
Hears something distorting
Observing everything completely
Taking notes very discreetly

They don't seem to mind that she's not there
She tells me, "I don't even know why you care
I don't even know why you care."

As the moon hits its peak she stands out in the glade
Trees lumber in the gloomy night
The sound crescendoing

She pulls her hood up like a shroud
Lifts her hand up towards the clouds
And then there's only leaves stirring about
An empty space with only Sandy's shroud
I don't even know why you care
I don't even know why you care
You didn't even notice I was there
