Back In The Day
Jill (spoken):
Hi, my name is Jill. I'd like to tell you a story about some friends of mine that happened a while ago

(sung):
There were days back in the day
When we were young and wild and playing
And in glamour and enchantment, we all dwelled
We might have teetered on the brink
But in our fun, we didn't think
Much of the future or of prudence or our health

And I loved them they loved me
We were free we were naive
There were oh so many things I can’t explain
But all you really need to know
Is that we loved each other so
And I never thought they'd ever go away

...

So post-humans are a thing
We're very rare we move between
The narratives, that is the worlds that you know
There were five of us back then
Not counting William and within
A strange dimension made of dreams we made our home
We explored and how we played
With reality in ways
That were thrilling like a drug we were enthralled
We didn't think of caution we
Care and discretion did not heed
I never thought those days would ever be so lost

Sometimes I dream, magazines, smiling starlets
Glamour and haze, how they wave
From days that are now long since swept

Dazzle and shine, lost lives, once upon a memory
Till sad old ladies alone
In a dark home is all that is left

...

Way far out on level five
Which does strange things to your mind
In a tower alien and ancient we
Built a playhouse where we played
Games both mind-bending and strange
Learned to tweak manipulate reality

Such adventures, such applause
For a moment we were gods
But youth misjudges many things it's true
Such as toll and consequence
All the wine went to our heads
And eventually, all bills will become due

Sometimes I dream, magazines, smiling starlets
Glamour and haze, how they wave
From days that are now long since swept

Dazzle and shine, lost lives, once upon a memory
Till sad old ladies alone
In a dark home is all that is left

Back in the days, back in the days, lost in a memory
Time is a maze, leads you astray, so far away
Back in the days, back in the days, lost in a memory
Memories so fine whitewashed by your mind back in the day
