Michael Ray
Felt Each Other Passing
Outward bound the train
The one that would stop for nothing
Even his terror
And the thought his life would somehow
End before the trip was even through

Homeward bound she was
On a rail that lead to nowhere
She thought that she was running
But now she felt that somehow she was
Quickly flying to eternal doom

They passed each other in the dark
Never having seen each other's face
If only once their eyes had locked
For both of them would be eternal grace
They were meant to be together
Though neither one believed in such a thing

There were voices in the dark
But it was more than just a spark
It was everything

He looked out the window
Sensing there was something out there
Something that could save him
If only he could reach it through the
Speed, the cold, the dark, the metal pain
Her face turned to the wind
Knowing that her chance was passing
If only she could reach out
If only she could pull it from the
Air that dried the tears upon her face

They passed each other in the dark
Never having seen each other's face
If only once their eyes had locked
For both of them would be eternal grace
They were meant to be together
Though neither one believed in such a thing

There was longing in their hearts
But it was changing fast from love
To nothing

They both got off their trains
Not bothering to grab their things
Not bothering to thing
Not bothering to speak as the
Believed that there was nothing left to say

They watched the crowds pass by
They stood there for a time
The next train was arriving
There was cold pain in their eyes as they stepped
Forward to the tracks where they now lay
They passed each other in the dark
Never having seen each other's face
If only once their eyes had locked
For both of them would be eternal grace
They were meant to be together
Though neither one believed in such a thing

There were voices in the dark
But it was more than just a spark
It was everything

There was longing in their hearts
But it was changing fast from love
To nothing

They felt each other passing
With a need now
Everlasting
