O’hene Savant
Stupid Minded
Verse 1:
Thinking back to 198 when I was the one tryin’ to date
Tryin’ to find a mate who’d embrace me and my unusual traits
As a child I went through some things that when I grew up would be shown
As a man I would kinda dread anytime I was left alone
I remember being in the church and this girl reaching in her purse
Saying it’s my card and give me a call when at home even if at work
I was kinda shocked she was bold, I saw it as cocky but dope
But since I’m the O here’s my card, nah you call me when I get home
And she did, in a matter of days I was at her crib
Come to find out she had a kid and a kid and a kid
And had been married for some years and in tears told me how affairs
Was her husband wouldn’t be there so her kids they would see what a family is
I thought I could help in the plight, she suggested I spend the night
An invite I had to refuse, that’s when I made a move, got my bike
And was out but the truth is I was really trapped
Though I acted like I was strong I didn’t move on, later I went back
Guess I was

Chorus (Mr. Throwdown):
I’m so stupid, stupid minded
Well I'm stupid sometimes, stupid minded
Cause I’m stupid, stupid minded
Oh oh sometimes stupid minded

Verse 2:
I dedicate this verse to a friend who’s been having problems with men
Always being used and abused, yes she would give up everything for them
Always looking for Mr. Right, always seemed to find Mr. Wrong
All along trusting in them, sis, this is where I think you went wrong
All the guys that you have met whether church or the internet
Wasn’t him ‘cause in a sense Mr. Right won’t be found in a quest
First you gotta look to yourself and that means you no one else
So don’t be intrigued or distracted by these guys, they’ll never help
Charity starts at home, get some clarity for that dome
Apparently you're at home in a mess seeking love in a chatroom
If I could I’d hold your hand but you’re a big girl so I can’t
You must understand you need more than sex if you wanna try and keep a man
Rather than giving yourself, try forgiving yourself, live in yourself
For a while and you find you possess much hidden wealth
If it fails it was you so regretful is what you won’t be
Respectful is what you gon’ be on me so lady don’t be
Chorus (Mr. Throwdown):
I’m so stupid, stupid minded
Well I'm stupid sometimes, stupid minded
Cause I’m stupid, stupid minded
Oh oh sometimes stupid minded

O’hene:
I dedicate this to the many of us who have made some stupid mistakes in our lives. I know I have. So this is a little medley I put together for you and you and you. Oh, and I forgot me, ‘cause I was, ‘cause I was, yes I was
