Timothy Brindle
Grace and Peace
[Intro]
Grace and peace, y'all
Yo, ever said "what up" to a Lamp Mode cat
And he was like "grace and peace"
You were like, "yo, what's he talking about, man?
This dude must think he's real spiritual or something"
No, not at all, yo
Come on, ayo, check it out now

[Verse 1]
If you ever cross ways to meet or came to greet
A Lamp Mode cat on the train or street
It may strange that we
Shake your hand and always say the same thing, "grace and peace"
Well, if it seems different, then listen, please
Because we ain't just spitting some Christianese
Naw, this is the way that Paul addresses
The people of God in all his letters
It's very reminiscent of Aaron's benediction
The word "grace" in Greek is karis when it's written
And "peace" is referring to Hebrew shalom
Which is total well-being from the seat of His throne
It flows forth from the Father and the Son
Because of the cross, He was slaughtered when He hung, uh
So now to the living God we can come
'Cause what was needed to please Him's already done, yeah
[Hook]
Because Christ was slain for our wayward deeds
And was raised from the grave to take His seat
He forgave the sheep, God's anger ceased
So now all the saints get is grace and peace
Because Christ was slain for our wayward deeds
And was raised from the grave to take His seat
He forgave the sheep, God's anger ceased
So when you see the saints, say "Grace and peace"

[Verse 2]
This salutation should sound amazing
Considering our wicked sin's defiled enslavement
As the Father's enemies, enormous enmity
Oh no, how we hate Him
He could have done more than pound our face in
We should be forever cast out, forsaken
But our sin, in Christ's account He placed it
The cup of God's wrath, He downed and drank it
So now the saints get peace like a river
And grace overflows like the Nile's embankment
So with the Father, you're not down the basement
But in His arms on His couch where He smiles, embracing
Grace and peace from Romans 5:1 and 2
Since we're justified, He won't punish you
He put the righteous life of His Son in you
That's why we like "grace and peace" when we coming through

[Outro]
Grace to you and peace from God our Father
And from the Lord Jesus Christ
Grace to you and peace from God our Father
And from the Lord Jesus Christ
