What title does the believer have for being "blessed," for enjoying the presence of God, the fellowship of the Holy Spirit? Is it because he lives righteously? Is it because he serves without mixed motives?

"Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven," the Psalmist says, "Whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit."

In other words, it isn't the perfect person; it's the person who is open before God, trusting in the blood of Christ and its efficacy. The blood of Christ cleanses us from sin. The blood of Christ gives our Advocate all the evidence He needs to plead our case before the Father. He is our propitiation. He satisfies every demand of God for righteousness and holiness

The blood of Christ cleanses us from sin. How deeply? He cleanses us even to the conscience. He cleanses us in a way that no offering, other than the blood of Christ, could do. He makes us perfect for all time, the Scriptures say. He's ransomed us not with perishable things like silver and gold but with the precious blood of Christ. It doesn't say He makes us "ransom-able;" He's ransomed us. He doesn't make us "cleanse-able;" He cleanses us. He doesn't make us "forgive-able;" He forgives us
