Please Stay With Me
I`ll try to keep it with me
While I treasure it each day,
I wish I could dust and polish it
So sparkling it would stay.

I must remember not to flaunt it,
But then, it`s too basic to win a prize
As I am sure there`s far better
In other people`s eyes.

Fleetingly it left me
But soon returned again,
I was so unhappy
That day was so much pain.

My life would be much happier
If I could have its guarantee
That I could now relax
Knowing it would stay with me.

I hope that you could view it
If ever we should meet,
It usually in my face
When I have visitors to greet.

It just hides when I am upset
Or if I`m feeling shy
But I`ve done my best to keep
That twinkle in my eye.
