I've Done A Daft Thing
I`ve done a daft thing
Now I feel I might pay,
Adopting a cat
That has lived as a stray.

He`s feisty and stuck up
And convinced that he`s mean,
Now perched on my table
He`s not very clean.

I`d give him a stroke
But he`s waiting to scratch
The wicked look in his eye
Tells me I`m no match.

He`ll gobble up cat food
Whatever the flavour
With a look to convey
That he`s done me a favour.

I`m doubting my judgement
About a cat with no name
While the darn thing is playing
The long waiting game.

I can hear him purring
When he thinks I`m not near,
But as soon as I`m seen
He raises his fur.

He will have to stop playing
That crafty old tune,
I`m determined that black and white horror
Will be a pet soon.
