Lack of Logic
Sometimes I see my mother in me
And sometimes it scares me to death
But I must rely on my tranquility
So nothing's decided yet!

It seems mothers are like a special breed
Sometimes they have no logic sense
And even before I learnt how to read
I knew I could not make amends

«Mama my new bike is gone», I said
«It must have been stolen last night»
The answer she gave me is still in my head
At the time I just gave up the fight

«I'm sure it was one of your friends»
She replied
«They've all seen you on it, I know!»
And what someone believes
Hardly can be denied
This was larger than me, and it would grow

«But mama!» I screamed
«just how can you think
That my best friends would do that to me?»
«No one can be trusted!»
She didn't even blink
I was nine years, I think, soon to be
So when sometimes I see my mother in me
I swear that it scares me to death!
But I will rely on my tranquility
So nothing's decided, yet
No, nothing is decided yet...
