Easy People
My nose has been itching me all day
Hey, company I must be on my way
I can't think why anyone would want to come see us
We don't know a soul that can afford to ride the bus
Someone turned in at the gate off of the road
One of you kids get a stick
And chase that dog on off of the porch
Go draw some fresh drinking water from the spring
Mama quit peeling them peaches
And go and sit in that swing

We just easy people
Rednecks all the way
Sipping wine and this homemade 'shine
Sitting around in the shade
For your own sake, son
I hope you ain't the law
It's a long way out of this holler
You just might get lost
You just might get lost

About that smoke going out of them hills
Mister that's a joke if you think we got a still
I hear old Jesse calling down at the foot of the creek
Said I set my place on fire won't turn the other cheek
See those roosters running around the yard
We put 'em on the table every Sunday
And we give grace to God
So if you're a lawman checking on a rumor you heard
We ain't had no chicken fights
Since cousin Red was sheriff
We just easy people
Rednecks all the way
Sipping wine and this homemade 'shine
Sitting around in the shade
For your own sake, son
I hope you ain't the law
It's a long way out of this holler
You just might get lost
You just might get lost
