Nine Times a Night
A rambling young sailor just newly come down
His ship was paid off in old Liverpool town
And as soon as he landed he said "Downright
I come from a family called Nine-Times-A-Night"

Now the town it soon rang with loud words of his fame
And they heard of this man with such a wonderful name
And the ladies when they are in bed at night
They long for the man they call Nine-Times-A-Night

Now a lady soon got him and she married him with speed
And she took him to bed for this wonderful deed
And he loved her six times and she thought it right
But she still gave him hints of his nine times a night

"Oh lady oh lady you took me quite wrong
I said to that family that I didn't belong
Well nine times a night is too much for one man
I can't do it myself but my sister she can"
