Element of Crime
A Hundred Floors Higher
I'm here on the skyscraper
Standing a hundred floors higher
Around me thousands of people
Below in the streets of this town

They're busy, have fun
And drive on their cars easy going
I'll move just a step forward
And I'll be among them, be down

But there's a sunset so kitschy
A blood-colour red disk in the skyline
And a warm wind is bringing up
Some relief wave in my hair

It's a summer-night summer wind
Maybe it's trying to push me
But i'm freezingly sad
Not try to remind why I'm here

There is nothing holding me back
Below in this world now
But it's hard to decide to leave it
To do it right now

So, I'm here on this skyscraper
Standing a hundred floors higher
Around me thousands of people
Below in the streets of this town
I'm looking down

I'm here for a long time now
The sun is set, it's getting dark here
And a marvellous lightshow
All over the town left beyond

And I wonder about the number
Of people who live there
There are thousends and thousands
And I know just a hundred of them

And I'm gazing around
I'm wond'ring: What kind of a town
What a number of people
I don't understand any longer my trouble:

It's only one woman

And I wonder how simple the answer is
Why I can't do it right now?
Why I'm still sitting here?
It's so easy, a joke, and it's better

I'm staying aliiiiive
There is no reason
For any suicide
Only, baby, because of
Someone like you

So, I'm leaving the roof
Of my scyscraper, back going downstairs
Maybe someone is waiting for me
In the streets of this town

I'm going down

There is no reason
For any suicide
Only, baby, because of
Someone like you

So, I'm leaving the roof
Of my scyscraper, back going downstairs
Maybe someone is waiting for me
In the streets of this town

I'm going down
I'm going down
I'm going down
I'm going down
