Basket of Oysters
[Verse 1]
As I was a-walking down a London street
A pretty little oyster girl I chanced for to meet
I lifted up her basket and then boldly I did peek
Just to see if she'd got any oysters

[Verse 2]
"Oh, oysters, oh, oysters, oh, oysters" said she
"These are the finest oysters that ever you did see
I sells them three a penny, but I'll give 'em to you free
For I see that you're a lover of oysters"

[Verse 3]
"Oh, landlord, oh, landlord, oh, landlord" said I
"Have you got a little room that's empty and nearby
Where me and the pretty little oyster girl may lie
While we bargain for a basket oysters?"

[Verse 4]
Well, we hadn't been upstairs for a quarter hour more
When that pretty little oyster girl, she opened up the door
She picked my pockets and then down the stairs she tore
She left with her basket of oysters

[Verse 5]
"Oh, landlord, oh, landlord, oh, landlord" I cried
"Did you see that little oyster girl a-drinking by my side?
She's done picked my pockets" But the landlord just replied
"Agh, you shouldn't be so fond of your oysters"
[Verse 6]
Now, all you brisk young men, be advised by me
If you meet a little oyster girl and you would marry me
Sew the pockets in your trousers and then throw away the key
Or you'll never get a taste of her oyster
