Tao-Tao-Tao
The great Tao flows everywhere
To the left and to the right
All things depend upon it that exist
And it does not abandon them
To its accomplishments it lays no claim
It cannot be called void
Or not void
Or both or neither
But in order to point it out
It is called void
The perfect way is without difficulty
Save that it avoids picking and choosing
Only when you stop liking and disliking
Will all be clearly understood
A split hair's difference
And Heaven and Earth are set apart!
If you want to get the plain truth
Be not concerned with right or wrong
The conflict between right and wrong
Is in the sickness of the mind
When a fish swims
He swims on and on
And there is no end to the water
And when a bird flies
He flies on and on
And there is no end to the sky
From the most ancient times
There never was a fish who swam out of the water
Or a bird who flew out of the sky
And when the fish needs just a little water
He uses just a little
And when he needs lots he uses lots
Thus the tips of their heads are always at the outer edge of their space
If ever a bird flies beyond that edge he dies
And so also with the fish
From water the fish makes his life
And from the sky, the bird
But this life is made by the bird and the fish
At the same time, the bird and the fish are made by life
Thus there are the fish, the water, and life
And all three arise together
Yet if there were a bird who first wanted to examine the size of the sky
Or a fish who first wanted to examine the extent of the water
And then try to fly or to swim
They will never find their own ways in the sky or the water
When there is no water – there is no moon in the water
And likewise, when there is no moon
And when the moon rises
The water does not wait to receive its image
And when even the tiniest drop of water is poured out
The moon does not wait to cast its reflection
The moon does not intend to cast its reflection
And the water does not receive its image on purpose

Like the endless sky, the Tao has no boundaries
It is right here in this place
Ever profoudly clear
When you seek to know it
You cannot see it
You cannot take hold of it
But you cannot lose it
In not being able to get it
You get it
When you are silent it speaks
But when you speak it is silent
The great gate is wide open to bestow alms
And no crowd is blocking the way
In this moment, there is nothing that comes to be
In this moment there is nothing that ceases to be
Thus, there is no birth or death to be brought to an end
Therefore, the absolute tranquility is in this present moment
Though it is at this present moment
There is no limit to it
And herein is eternal delight

We are born, because it is time
We leave, because it is time
Follow the natural flow
Be content with the moment
And there will be no room for grief or joy
The world is consumed, the fire burns on
And we do not know...
