Loneliness convinces you that you're better off this way
Your thoughts become your best friends
Until they inevitably stab you in the back
Just like they all do
Until your head is filled with uncertainty, anger, self-hate, and hopelessness
This loneliness tries to convince you, "you're better off on your own"
Until being better off on your own becomes deadly
Until you forget how to breathe
There's this ticking in your head that won't stop
Maybe that's exactly what the loneliness wants
It wants to become all that you know
