Olivia Dean
Baby Come Home (Live At The Jazz Cafe)
[Intro]
Thank you
We enjoying ourselves, yeah?
It's good, okay, cool
Um, this next one came out in lockdown
I recorded the vocals in my bedroom
And I shot the music video in my garden, um
So it's got a very special place in my heart for that reason
And, um, it is about missing someone you love
I think we can all relate we've been through it this year

[Verse 1]
I wanna fall into arms like lovers do
I'm missing my sweet nothing
I wanna talk with you but this phone won't do
'Cause I need you here one-hundred

[Chorus]
Baby, come home, I got it bad for you
I'm no good alone at three in the afternoon
Baby, I need morе than a word from you
I can't stop singing your song
It always plays when you're gone

[Verse 2]
I madе you a coffee, I don't know why
Thought I heard the doorbell a couple times
Running on restless, how silly I?
Somehow our room don't feel the same
Without your love, it's just a space
And every hour is overtime
[Chorus]
Baby, come home, I got it bad for you
I'm no good alone at three in the afternoon
Baby, I need more than a word from you
I can't stop singing your song
It always plays when you're gone

[Bridge]
Hey, how's your day been?
Boy, you shake me on the daily, oh
You are some supernatural high
Can't say no
Oh, how the day goes
Oh, how the day goes by, love

[Chorus]
Baby, come home, I got it bad for you
I'm no good alone at three in the afternoon
Baby, I need more than a word from you
I can't stop singing your song

[Outro]
Thank you
Now I'm going to move seamlessly to the keyboard
Um, okay, now I'm going to play a new song that no one has heard before
Except everyone from last night, but it doesn't matter
Tonight is a new night and, um, yeah, It's funny
My last EP was definitely like a break up EP
I was kind of processing the breakdown of a relationship
And it was sad and then I was like
"I'm not going to write anymore sad songs"
And then the pandemic happened
And I was like "oh, ok, I will work with what I've got"
No, but its not that sad this song, um
It is about I think maybe when I was a little bit younger
I thought that I needed to be in this really tumultuous relationship
And like it was going to be really dramatic and sexy and whatever
And actually I was just unhappy
And, um, I think I've decided now that, um
I just want to fall into a normal and just ordinary and beautiful way
I think ordinary things are very beautiful
So this is a song that exists in that world of thought and its called "Slowly"
