The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan

[Verse 1]
World War One, Germany thought to take over France
Then take Russia with no two-front war in their stance
Alfred Von Schlieffen had his own entire plan
German Generals agreed to follow the old man
Before the war, Germany took Alsace-Lorraine
First owned by France and the Germans kept it sustained
The Germans thought that's what the French would want to gain
Soldier groups would be sent there to defend and stay
Through the invasion, that's where all French will go for
Send some units to circle 'round France starting North
Box French in heading back to Eastern Front going forth
Get to Paris since army won't be there of course
Paris will surrender losing all their freedom
Before, some need to run through Netherlands and Belgium
Travel through forests then fortresses, ignore them
And have a group defending against Russia's men

[Chorus]
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan

[Verse 2]
The plan took unexpected turns during the war
Schlieffen died 1913, just a year before
Generals only had papers, they couldn't learn more
No one knew it like Schlieffen, Generals changed it more
They realized French would turn North once heard, not just East
Circling groups were all ordered to turn early
Being farther away, groups couldn't keep up with each
Forests kept blocking the path with all of the trees
The fortresses weren't ignored, the soldiers went right through
Other sides of rivers soldiers needed to get to
Soldiers approached, Paris had one thing it could do
They got taxies and trainees who could barley shoot
The few thousand taxi army closely drove in
To the Germans, an ant of soldiers they could squash in
Germans thought if there's some here they might be surrounded
Once they saw, they didn't take Paris and retreated
[Chorus]
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
This is the Schlieffen Plan
The Schlief, Schlief, Schlieffen Plan
