Ye Vagabonds
A Garden
[Verse 1]
I walked down
A long country mile
Over fence and stile
'Til the road ran out

[Verse 2]
And I looked around
It was all common ground
So I took the shade
Of a tree for my house

[Verse 3]
And I slept and woke
Underneath the oak
'Til the clouds broke open
And the rain poured out

[Verse 4]
And a garden grew
Up before my very eyes
And I watched it rise and
Come in to bloom

[Verse 5]
And I played a game
Gave each flower a name
It's own sovereign sound
So it could be known
[Verse 6]
But I left out
The stalk and sprout
From the seed of doubt
For it grew alone

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 7]
Then the road reappeared
Just as though it had always been there
And I wandered on though I
Never left home
