Genius South Africa
Welcome to Genius South Africa
Welcome to Genius South Africa!Genius is the biggest lyric site on the internet, and here, we have a group of users working hard to add South African music to the site! How to get involved?Say Hi! Let us know you're a South African user (or even just a fan of South African music!).

You can also add your name to this list and introduce yourself in the annotation.

Transcribe Lyrics! If you're unsure of what to transcribe, take a look at our South African Releases 2023 calendar! A lot of the albums and singles on there have some missing lyrics, so there's always plenty to transcribe. -> Contact one of our Transcribers @Gift_RealG for more info on transcription.

Artists
Before adding a new artist name make sure that artist doesn't exit on the site as yet.

If there are two artists of the same or similar name(s), use country code (SA) e.g. Jimmie would be "Jimmie (SA)" to disambiguate one of them.

You can also use music genres or artist roles e.g. Jimmie could be, "Jimmie (Rap)", "Jimmie (Prod)" etc.

Verification
Moderators and Staff members are the only ones who can verify a user. If you wish to become verified, please follow the steps on this page. If you run into any problems please feel to free message our local moderator @The_Aards.

Start annotating! Not sure how to annotate? Check this page and get up to speed before annotating! But there isn't just annotating - you can add metadata, write song bios, transcribe, etc.

Become an editor! Would you like to become an editor? If so message @LOADEDx16, @Macjah, @The_Aards or any of the editors here, and we'll all be happy to mentor you to editorship!
