Beautiful - Commentary
[Spoken Word]
Ever since I wrote "Beautiful," I knew it would be the opener of the album. This track means so much to me, it's the first song I've ever co-produced myself. And with that, I mean really sitting behind the knobs and deciding the sound of it. It also has a very personal story, with a message that I really believe in, looking back on the last couple of years in my life. So many things have changed, honestly my whole life has changed. But I mean, everyone's life is so... changeable. We meet so many people every single day. People who are nice, but also people that kind of judge you, and it's so easy to focus on that negativity that people can spread, even though we don't really want to focus on it. That's why "Beautiful" is really important to me. It's a song for my best friends, the people that know me, the people who love me, no matter what. Whatever happens, whatever changes, we'll stay the same. And by focusing on their positivity, I get happier too. I mean, that's beautiful to me.
