Poster
[Verse 1]
"How much can you drink
Before you get drunk?"
Said a poster for my old GT
They must've meant it as a warning
But it seemed just like a challenge
And once you get cynical it's a habit
To disagree

[Verse 2]
Like I said to the man in a wheelchair
Who sells, pay he'll still take you anywhere
I guess this must be as far as they took you
But if there was such a drug
I admit it would be useful
And I guess it would be sold by men just like him
And of course I dislike it

[Chorus]
'Cause if he gave me a call
If he came knocking on my door
If he passed me on the street
I wouldn't notice
I wouldn't turn around
Would not answer "open up"
I would just pretend like
I didn't notice
Even if I knew always
[Verse 3]
It's like that poster at the train station
I took for political statements
Since it was homemade and in Arabic
But it turned out to be an anonymous poem
Written for us passing it without knowing
And even translated it was quite magic
It said

[Bridge, Jens Lekman]
People
If you want me to, I could tell you all that I've been through
I could show you where I've been, and where I'm heading
But this is just a simple sign on a station you're about to leave behind
So this is just my way of saying
Goodbye
Good luck!

[Chorus]
And if he gave me a call
If he came knocking on my door
If he passed me on the street
Would I notice?
Would I turn around?
Would I answer "open up"?
Would I
Notice?
Even if I knew always
[Verse 4]
So let's be perfectly honest, girl
Just when I think I'm on top of this world
Once again it turns, it turns, it turns
And it leads me to very few things in life
That I can trust and really like
But you're one of them, you're one of them
You're one of them

[Chorus]
And if you give me a call
If you come knocking on my door
If you pass me on the street
On my way to the record store
You see I will turn around
Yes I will answer "open up"
I won't let you pass me unnoticed
Since I know this
Since I know this
Since I know this
