Русалка плыла по реке голубой
Озаряя под полной луной
И старалась она ту блесну не словить

И шумя, и крутясь, колебала река

The mermaid swam the blue river
Illuminated by the full moon
In an effort to reach it
On a silver wave of foam

Rustling and turning, the river swayed
With clouds reflected in its waters;
