3 Ways
[Chorus]
3 ways, 3 ways to persuade
You got 3 ways, 3 ways for your aid
Ethos, and pathos and logos okay?
You got 3 ways, 3 ways to persuade

[Verse 1]
Ethos is when your appeal is so ethical
You as the speaker will try to sound credible
It’s a good idea to provide your credentials
Sound like an expert whose far from replaceable
If that’s the case then it won’t be debatable
Hit common ground so you’re sounding relatable
Make a connection that’s highly unbreakable
Don’t come off phony or you will be hateable
You can say things like “I’m a student too
I know exactly how it feels, I used to not have a clue”
“So you should listen to me, because I’m just like you”
Then start your argument and it make it seem like the truth
You gotta command, respect as you speak
Or you’ll get tuned out and they turn the other cheek
This can done by, dressing at your peak
Tell the audience be quiet as you’re trying to speak

[Chorus]
3 ways, 3 ways to persuade
You got 3 ways, 3 ways for your aid
Ethos, and pathos and logos okay?
You got 3 ways, 3 ways to persuade
[Verse 2]
Aye, Pathos is another one
When your appeal is heavily based on emotion
Metaphors, analogies what you’re evoking
Try to use your storytelling as they’re listening
You could scare em as well
Like if they don’t agree, then they’ll be going to hell
Deep in their minds, thoughts of fear will dwell
And if you really want scare em you can stand up and yell
Or, you can take off that hood
And maybe try to make the audience go and feel good
Saying things like, “I know that you could
Do some really great things so I think that you should”
Be emotionally charged with the words that you say
Using dog whistles with implicit meanings you may
With everybody words all hold a different weight
When you’re using pathos, their emotions you play

[Chorus]
3 ways, 3 ways to persuade
You got 3 ways, 3 ways for your aid
Ethos, and pathos and logos okay?
You got 3 ways, 3 ways to persuade

[Verse 3]
3 ways, logos is the last
It’s when you back up what you’re saying with facts
Ethos and pathos are really just acts
You gotta have knowledge for logos to pass
Be specific, like you’re teaching a lesson
Better be prepared if you receive a question
What you say is truth, it is not a suggestion
Don’t say the contradictory data, just suppress it
Say, “According to this scientific site
The data shows here that’s my argument’s right”
When you quote a source you should prolly cite
But if the data’s from yourself then you’ll be alright
You got use logic and reason as you speak
As a lack of those two makes an argument weak
Plus it can emphasize all your points to a peek
Logos, turns you to a fact spitting freak
[Chorus]
3 ways, 3 ways to persuade
You got 3 ways, 3 ways for your aid
Ethos, and pathos and logos okay?
You got 3 ways, 3 ways to persuade
