Nick Lutsko
Obituary
Writing my obituary
Eggplant, peach and fire emojis
Buried with the baptists
Champagne at the wake
The viewings open casket
The body is a cake
There was a rain cloud
Above our bed
There was a stampede
Inside your head
When it convinced you
Everything was crumbling
I said “I’ll be buried
At your altar for forever amen”
The world was ending
Since before the beginning of time
It’s alright, it’s alright
It took a minute to get it
But I really don’t mind
It’s alright, it’s alright
May your cup overflow
As the oceans rise below
I’ll be singing in the clouds
When the sky falls down
It’s alright, it’s alright
I’ll be getting dressed up
As the building burns down
I’ll be soaking in the tub
When the bottom drops out
Reading through the dictionary
Every words unnecessary
I think I’ll make a new one
And fill up every page
With optical illusions
Of consciousness attained
There was a snow storm
Outside our room
There was a sunbeam
Inside of you
The cold grew distant
The darkness turned
To sparkling gold
The scales lifted from my eyes
And the light exploded
It is my weapon
It is my shield
It is my fortress
Amidst the battlefield
Our time is fleeting
I feel it in the depths of my soul
So I’ll be basking in the sun
Until it swallows us whole
The world was ending
Since before the beginning of time
It’s alright, it’s alright
It took a minute to get it
But I really don’t mind
It’s alright, it’s alright
May your cup overflow
As the oceans rise below
I’ll be singing in the clouds
When the sky falls down
It’s alright, it’s alright
Facing down the gun
With my head above the sky
I am blinded by the sun
When I look into your eyes
I’ll be putting on a tux
I’ll be singing in the sky
Staring straight into the sun
It’s alright
