Grinning Like a Barracuda
I was choking on a pair of dice
When a couple of guys
Came and asked me if I had a light
I told them I knew someone who might
So I took them to the opposite side
Of Hollywood and Vine
To a friend of mind
When we asked him if he had a light
He told us just to look inside and started

Grinning like a barracuda
Grinning like a barracuda
He was grinning like a barracuda
From the Taj Majal to Chattanooga
Grinning like a barracuda
From the cosmos to the bargain of Judas
Grinning like a barracuda

Well, I shrugged and then I took him aside
I said, “Man, are you feeling all right?
‘Cause you're acting like your brain has been fried
I don't even know these guys
But I think they may be looking to fight
Come on, do what's right just give them the light”
But when I turned back to the opposite side
I couldn't believe my eyes when they started
Grinning like a barracuda
Grinning like a barracuda
They were grinning like a barracuda
From the Tiananmen Square to Bermuda
Grinning like a barracuda
From the cosmos to the bargain of Judas
Grinning like a barracuda

I pinched myself and pulled on my eyelids
Am I really alive?
Is this some kind of maniacal virus?
Is there something that I've missed?
How much longer can I survive this?
That's it, I'm looking inside
And when I saw it I just couldn't deny it
A light so bright it shot through my iris
And I started

Grinning like a barracuda
Grinning like a barracuda
I was grinning like a barracuda
From the Taj Mahal to Chattanooga
Grinning like a barracuda
From the cosmos to the bargain of Judas
Grinning like a barracuda
Everybody everywhere was

Grinning like a barracuda
Grinning like a barracuda
Everybody grinning barracuda
Looking like a hundred thousand hallelujahs
Grinning like a barracuda
From the cosmos to the bargain of Judas
Even the broke, blind, vile, and toothless
Were grinning like a barracuda
