South Park
Origins
Way back in the year 1992, Parker and Stone made a short film called "The Spirit of Christmas" (AKA: Jesus vs. Frosty) while they were students at University of Colorado. This early short featured prototypes of the show's four main characters: Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman. The success of the short lead to a request by FOX employee Brian Graden by requesting a second short and they did.

This short, called "Jesus vs. Santa" was the very first viral video on the internet and it won many awards.

Thе popularity of the short in 1997, allowed Parker & Stonе to develop the show for the Fox Broadcasting Company. This plan turned the tables as the company did not want Mr. Hankey in it.

It was also shown that FOX was not interested in the show, and they denied the offer.

Ultimately, South Park got the chance to appear on television in July 1997 when Doug Herzog saw their iconic short. The most funniest thing in the show was the popular character Mr. Hankey. We got to see him in "Mr. Hankey, the Christmas Poo".

On August 13, 1997, South Park officially showed up on the TV screen with its series premier, "Cartman Gets An Anal Probe".
