I Remember 2006
Binary Night
Waves of code turn into a sea
And all I perceive is a time bomb
Waiting to go from green to red
And disintegrate everything

Every screen stares back at me
The keys click monotonously
I feel a sense of dread
A frayed feeling of security

A two has appeared in the binary
And the lines of script come to drag me in
A rip current of malicious code
To tear apart the sense of normalcy

All the windows bounce up and down
The icons run away from me
There's someone in the middle
And something is laughing

The lights outside flicker
Machines are going rogue
Someone has activated the catalyst
That shrouds the city in darkness

Everything granted has turned on its side
And we are the targets this night
And now I realize I was dependent
On normalcy never breaking
And now something has taken over
Homes are full of their weapons
There's not a corner for sanctuary
Everything has gone dark

Here we, here we go forever
Chaos is in their hands
We never really had it in control
So why am I surprised?

And once the red goes black
And I have sunk into the wormhole
I'm just another character in the hex
Chaos has a structure I have no bearing to understand
