I Remember 2006
Beach Life Imbalance
(Verse One)

Sometimes you gotta leave
All of your dreams
I don't feel safe here
But where can I be?
The family moved here
For the beach life
And now I realize
It was all a lie

Every time I stare out to the water
I can feel their eyes peering back
What can I do to protect my brother
When it lurks somewhere in the water
Last time that it made it's appearance
Our sister had vanished
My family now is struggling to keep their minds
The tourists never learn to see the signs

(Chorus)

This beach life imbalance
Is driving me mad
Why was this the plan
To live out on the lake
What a mistake
Now were stuck here
Something stares at us
With their glowing eyes
And I don't know how to escape this time
One more disappearance
One more sight
I'm stuck on the east side
(Verse Two)

Where are we going to go?
We spent it all on the house
A view from the lake
To see our stalker wait
For the perfect moment
To strike us again
Another branch off
The family tree

My mother is screaming to the shore
Her eyes vibrate with intense rage
My little brother hides behind me
Shaking from the fear of her wrath
Our father stands up and runs outside
Telling us to stay inside
Carrying a shotgun in his hands
He ran into the fog and that was his end

(Chorus)

This beach life imbalance
Is driving me mad
Why was this the plan
To live out on the lake
What a mistake
Now were stuck here
Something stares at us
With their glowing eyes
And I don't know how to escape this time
One more disappearance
One more sight
I'm stuck on the east side
(Verse Three)

My mother had enough
Sat me down to talk
Saying; "You need to escape
Take your brother along."
She told me her plans
Self sacrifice
There was nothing I could say
To change her mind

We could only watch as she walked out the door
Making her way down to the shore
Then the creature rose out of the water
Stared down at her, then right to us
I swear it was like two stories
With ears like an elephants, and piercing green eyes
The body colored white and tan, and the torso was oval shaped
Its six legs look powerful enough to tear someone apart

Giant mandibles and massive wings
Claws long enough to trap someone in their grasp
My mother looked up and said "take me instead."
"Spare my sons. Let them live."
We helplessly watch as it grabbed our mom
And as it dived back into the lake
So us two remain, and we ran away
We gotta get out of this town today
(Chorus)

This beach life imbalance
Is driving me mad
Why was this the plan
To live out on the lake
What a mistake
Now were stuck here
Something stares at us
With their glowing eyes
And I don't know how to escape this time
One more disappearance
One more sight
We're stuck on the east side
