Reluctantly
[The Dragon]
They say "Dave, get out of your cave
Go scourage the countryside"
But I'm not really feeling it
"Come on, Dave,"
They rant and rave
"Commit some homicide"

And I've never been one, never been one, never been one
To play with fire, just to watch it burn
And it's all been done, I find no fun, I find no fun
The screaming makes my stomach churn

I tried making friends with a knight
Just the other day
Dad ripped his arms off for spite
So what do you want me to say?
I'm just not made that way

And I know what you expect from me
And I try, but I do it reluctantly

And they say it's foretold, say it's foretold
In tales of old
It's in some dumb prophecy
But that's so self-fulfilling
And I do as I'm told, do as I'm told, follow the fold
The ultimate hypocrisy
That I'm not willing
To do more killing
And we're born into this world from our safe warm egg
And then "Crack!"
And we rage, rampage, come of age and never try to put the pieces back

So we pillage another village
A new cycle will begin
'Til who knows who's to blame
And no one can win
And I don't fit in

And I know what you expect from me
And I try
But I
I just wanna fly away
I just wanna fly away
I just wanna fly away
Oooh, and maybe I'll open up a bakery or something

I know what your expect from me
But what you want is something I can't be
So I'll try, but I do it reluctantly
