Melting Car
[Verse 1]
They found shade in a melting car
He said, "Hey babe, we probably won't get far"
"You see, we've got some missing wheels, and the engine is charred"
"And both our phones are dead, so they don't know where we are"
Sprawled inside a rusty bucket pile of trash
Two lovers sat beside to hold each others hands
The desert sun was beating down upon the dash
The lovers thought they'd melt, catch fire, turn into ash

[Verse 2]
He said, "Hey babe, we could melt together"
"When they find our bodies in this hellish weather"
"We're burnt, to a crisp, we're probably stuck to the leather"
They'll say, "Poor kids, I would've raised them better"
The lovers faded quick as they were parched to the bone
The sweat upon their brow the only water they own
She rolled her head to look at him and let out a groan
He said that it's okay because together we're home

[Verse 3]
He looked into her eyes and said, "I don't want to leave you"
She said, "Babe, it's okay, you know that soon we'll be see-through"
"We'll be a couple ghosts and play some pranks on a mean dude"
"So never let me go so that I know where to meet you"
"Who would know the deserts where we'd meet and then die?"
"Barely said hello, we gotta say our last goodbyes"
"I really hope I see you on the other side"
And then they closed their eyes and drifted off and then died
