Were we all born with an instinct
To be selfish or to share? ,
Is that why some people walk on by
While others stop to care? .

Was it inbred in us
Which path through life we took,
So some will lift a hand to help
While others stand and look? .

If some people seem quite lazy
Is it all their fault? ,
Did they develop that themselves
Or as children were they taught? .

Did well meaning parents spoil them
Handing everything on a plate,
Then live long enough to regret it
When it was far too late?
