Heartache On The Beach
A small girl on the beach with her pony tail,
Her tattered shorts and body so frail.
I tried to see who she was with
But really it was love I wanted to give.

Her green eyes wistfully gazed around
Whoever she looked for, obviously not found.
She sat head in one hand
Her tiny body almost lost in the sand.

Walking nearer I felt the need to protect
When my dog rushed at her
(He`s never learnt respect) ,
Her laughter appeared as they rolled around,
Barks and shrieks, a joyous sound.

Then a voice behind me, explained,
'She reflects on this beach in solitude
I watch from a distance not to intrude,
Her mum died here, now it`s only us two'.

Me? , I gained two friends, what else could I do? .
