Going Nowhere Anymore
Sandy pebbles scuff my feet
Along this cold lost shore
As barefoot I amble
Going nowhere anymore.

My plastic shoes have broken
I slipped over as I walked,
Not a soul have I passed
Just to myself I`ve talked.

Seagulls now screech at me
As they fly across to a hill
They don`t scare me at all
I guess they never will.

My foot is tangled in seaweed fonds
Clinging on to me
I`ll try to shake off this slippery mass
Or I will not be free.

I`m leaving blood red smudges
As hidden glass has cut my toe
First aid will not be given
There is no-one here to know.

Salt water now is stinging
As rushing waves lap across my feet
No thought or care I give to it
As my whole body knows defeat.

Just onward I will amble
Along this cold lost shore
No aim have I to stop
Going nowhere anymore.
