Amen
You ever wake up one morning and think what is life
Knowing you living wrong but can't seem to make it right
Thinking that you are strong but you lost couple fights
See life unexpected so it got you thinking twice
And you hate what you are but can't be who you want to be
Try live in present but your past still haunts you
And you the same person they all once knew
But you changed because you started to see the truth
And that’s real
Can never have opinion never show how you feel
As soon as they know you different that’s their cue to close the deal
Cos a girl with a mindset deeper than sex appeal
Is a threat even to men but I still keep it real
See most of you have opinions but none of you even know me
Acting like you my friends but we aren’t never been homiest
Bragging you got it bad like it be some kind of trophy
I been in and out of home since 15 shit is lonely
You would think I had it great don’t ever judge a face
Can never just a walk by the shoes they have laced
Could never feel my struggle unless you really had a taste
But for now you could go ahead and hate
I started with a notebook pen in my hand
Writing poems just to escape the pain in advance
See rap gave me confidence I never knew I had
Rap raised me no father figure no dad
You rapping cos its cool and you the trendy type
I rap because when I tried to commit it saved my life
Those suicidal thoughts that were running through my mind
Are no longer existent to the past I left behind
I rap about my life I’m not here to sugar coat it
But still half of you will question if I truly wrote it
Blinded by the fact that my skin is not black you would think its all an act
Weather ignorance is noted
But I continue coos I was raised a fighter
Try to dim my shine but my future seems brighter
I never had a father but I prayed to one higher
He don’t judge me by mistakes he don’t look at my attire
But he loves me for what’s real
And that’s something you couldn’t take
My bond between god you could never break
And see my faith that’s something you could never shake
When I was crying in the gutter god was never late
So I could feel it in the air can't see him but I know he’s there
Only truly one who cared no but still fed
If it weren’t for my father I’d be locked up or dead
So I dedicate this to my main man
Amen
