Why do I need to access the router’s web-based setup page?

Learning how to access the router’s web-based setup page is very important especially if you want to configure advanced settings. Some common configurations that can be done on the page is to set up a wireless security for your network, forward ports for your game console and video camera, and set up your Linksys router manually.

Follow the steps below to learn how to access your Linksys router’s web-based setup page:

IMPORTANT: Before accessing the router’s web-based setup page, make sure the router is powered ON and the computer is wired to one of the Ethernet ports on the router (1, 2, 3 or 4).



Accessing the router’s web-based setup page

After connecting your computer to the router, make sure that the LED corresponding to the port where the computer is connected to is ON.

Step 1:
Launch a web browser like Internet Explorer.

Step 2:
In the Address bar, enter “192.168.1.1” as the router’s default IP address then press [Enter]. If this doesn’t work or if the IP address of your router has been changed, enter it instead.



Step 3:
Enter “admin” in the Password field then leave the User name blank. If you have set up a User name and Password for your Linksys router before, enter your personalized credentials instead.
